In The Beginning (CD)

Discantus, a choir of about 30 voices, is widely experienced.  It has performed in many cities in the UK and has travelled to several different countries to give concerts.  Bruce Ramell is the leader of the choir and has led it since its formation in 1988.

The music was composed by Leon MacLaren, the leader of the School of Economic Science for over 50 years.  The work is an oratorio based on biblical texts from the Psalms, St. John, St. Luke, Isaiah and Leviticus.  The music is designed to convey the meaning of the words.
