The pieces on this recording are from Discantus’ extensive repertoire, which is largely sacred music from the 15th – 18th centuries from composers such as Byrd, Tallis and others from their era. The pieces are interspersed with vocal and instrumental interludes. The final piece is by David Goymour of Discantus.
Discantus, a choir of about 30 voices, is widely experienced. It has performed in many cities in the UK and has travelled to several different countries to give concerts. Bruce Ramell is the leader of the choir and has led it since its formation in 1988.
The recording was made in the Artists’ Hall at Waterperry House, Oxfordshire by Adrian Green.
